MINDFUL MOVEMENT AND BODY AWARENESS

Constant awareness of whatever you are doing is essential to promote healing, prevent injury, and enhance postural alignment and movement efficiency. When we respond mindfully, we break habits. Observe your body in a non-judgmental way to adjust posture and movement patterns. Mindful movement is “meditation in motion” with posture and movement the object of meditation.”

This workbook is divided into four fundamental components for rehabilitation as follows "Self-Care," provides a holistic approach for designing a personal rehabilitation program including the steps to take immediately upon incurring an injury. "Posture and Movement Retraining" introduces sitting and standing postures, the hip hinge and the walking and running gait. "Therapeutic Yoga Exercise" is designed to correct muscular imbalances essential for optimal alignment. These exercises are useful immediately following an injury and throughout your life. The 'resources' section contains contact information for further reading, optional equipment and practitioners.
